I talk to my dolls out loud, but they don't talk back. Instead, they give me these looks and I'm supposed to know what they mean Maybe it's a little ESP going on there Well, when I'm not around I HAVE heard them talking to each other (see Josie goes to Costa Rica). But don't tell them that cuz I wouldn't want them to stop!

My daughter talks aloud to her dolls and then "speaks" aloud for them. It is such an interesting insight into what she is thinking and feeling. It can also be rather funnny to hear some of their "conversations."

I wonder if she picked up this way of playing from me. Anytime I play with my DD and her AG dolls or any of her stuffed animals, I always carry on "conversations" aloud with the toys. I don't remember if I played this was as a child myself but I guess I probably did since it is what I naturally did the first time I played with my DD and her toys.

My husband works overseas and is away most of the time, so I confess - I do talk to my dolls! Surely it's more sane than talking to yourself, right?

I talk to my dolls out loud and they talk back to my mind. I guess that's an ESP form. My dolls only talk out loud when Nicole is around. I use a different voice for them. It's a really high pitch one so sometimes it's hard to talk dolly talk for a long time.

Nicole loves me making them talk. She always says "Make them talk, mommy, make them talk!". I prefer to talk to them, brush their hair and change their outfits. Nicole likes having birthday parties with them and other types of gatherings.

I talk to my dolls yes, and sometimes I do their voices but not all the time. I do my dogs voice all the time and make her talk to everyone.

I talk to my dolls all the time. They don't talk back, but I do the ESP thing too. I always sense that my dolls are a little jealous of Samantha because I do have a tendency to play favorites with her! (Like the vast majority of the Valentines I sent for the swap are from Samantha...) I try to make sure they all get some time with me. hehe.

When I was living at home with my parents, my mom would often tell me that one of my dolls or hers asked for something- like a change of clothes. Or if there's something I really want for one of them, of course, it's *her* asking for it rather than me. hehehe.

My dolls always talked to me, and apparently they talk to Cassie too...

She was writing a background story for her AGT and she kept asking my opinion on everything. I finally had to say "I don't know, why don't you go ask your doll?" She looked at me like I was nuts, but she disappeared for a short time. When she came back she said her dolls hobby was sewing doll dresses for her doll...I guess they had a pretty good talk! <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">My daughter does this also, but only with her Felicity and Raggedy Ann. She also thinks they are real because she says she has seen them either move or do something. Of course I think our dogs think the dolls are real also because they will kiss the dolls' faces and not chew on them. Any other toys is basically up for grabs. My daughter decided she wanted to keep her Marisol so she took her to ballet with her yesterday. On the way she said it was weird that when she looked at Marisol long enough she thought she saw her mouth move. Maybe "Toy Story" was real and the toys are alive I also think it is a great insight into their thoughts and ideas.

Well I have to younger sisters, Willow (15) and Solana, (10) and we play dolls together all the time. But our "play" is very... um....realistic? All the dolls talk to each other and write letters to each other, they have different social classes, the sort of snotty dolls and the wonderful happy about life dolls. We've worked a long time on making each doll have their own personal handwriting, signature, voice, dreams and ideals, birthday, pet peeves, skills, and so forth. It's so much fun.... and it's really funny too.
But yes, when i'm in the mode (even without my sisters) I have talked to my dolls before... i've had them sleep on my bed (this was when i was 10 or so) and we had a "sleepover" and I talked to them and made them talk back to me. Very interesting conversation.
